Jaeger le Coultre 1940s calibre 168A Military Manual Wind Watch
Interesting JLC military watch. The black original dial, with Arabic luminous numerals is in good condition, with initial signs of ageing that doesn’t detract from its aesthetic appeal. Larger case with luminous lance/alpha hands.
The diameter of the watch is 34mm not including the crown and the original Stainless Steel case is in very good condition, with some minor scratches on the back case. Has the number 274023 stamped on the back case, above which is stamped B. It has a Cal. 469A manual movement and is keeping good time.
The Caliber 479 is 12.5 lignes (just over 28mm diameter), and employs 17 jewels . Close examination shows that besides being a beautiful and elegant design, great care has been taken in its functional finishing. The bridges are beautifully striped and gilded, the blued-steel hairspring ends in a Breguet overcoil, and the overall finish of the parts is much smoother and finer than that of comparable Omegas. The anchor alone is a work of art.
