Jaeger le Coultre 1960s 18k Solid Gold Monocoque Case Calibre 885 Watch


1960s mint condition Jaeger LeCoultre classic style slimline watch. Solid 18K yellow gold monocoque case signed inside E 20001 which is the model number. Gold original dial with applied 3, 6 9 and 12 markers and gold Jaeger LeCoultre logo at 1200.

Jaeger LeCoultre Caliber K885 manual wind movement Signed 4x on the Dial, Case, Crown and Movement . It’s a 17-jewel movement serial number 1742890. Specifications: Round hand wind; Direct centre second; Chamfered plates and bridges; 17 Jewels - Spirotor "Kif Flector" shock absorber, screwless balance diameter 10.84mm that operates at 18,000 beats per hour. Excellent condition of dial and good functioning movement. Engraved number in the back : 999 666 A and the Swiss gold hallmark. The A on the case back denotes that it is solid gold.

The screw on the case back unscrews to a small screw in the case that allows the crown to be removed. Once the crown is removed a special pump is placed over the crown pipe and air is pumped into the watch to pop the watch crystal. The movement is then removed from the front of the case. The movement was completely dissembled, cleaned and oiled in November 2006.
