Girard Perregaux 1962 Overhauled Seahawk Manual Wind Watch

This is a very handsome example of the Girard Perreguax Seahawk in excellent condition. The GP Seahawk is truly an all-time classic. This watch, being Girard Perregaux's most popular watch model, is still in production today and is an expensive contemporary timepiece.

The dial of this watch is immaculate and handsome. It has a very clean and sharp presentation with classic baton hour indices and Dauphine hands. Note the applied GP logo. The YGF steel case is in excellent condition and has a very low profile that wears quite nicely. The case measures 32.5mm in diameter. Note the teardrop, faceted lugs. A new crystal and a new leather band have been fitted. Case is finely polished. The high-quality hand wound movement is signed GP and is very clean. It has recently been overhauled and is keeping very good time

The watch has an inscription on the back ‘ James S Smith 16 years –1962- Thompson Aircraft Tire Corp.’. While some collectors baulk at inscriptions, I believe they give a watch character and provenance.
